Salvatore "Sam" Bonanno founded Star Lumber Company in 1953, locating the fledgling company on Hanson Street in Somersworth, NH. The Company’s early offerings included millwork, plywood, finish and trim boards.
Needing more space in 1955, Sam moved the business to its present location at 458 High Street. Product offerings expanded to include framing lumber, drywall, insulation, builder’s hardware and delivery service.Over the years the company expanded with acquisitions of adjacent properties needed to make room for our expanded showroom and new warehouses.
Today, Star Lumber is a proud member of the Somersworth Business Community, offering high quality materials to professional builders and advanced enthusiasts. We still provide the same high-quality, personalized service Sam was known for.
